Gnubio - Mixture of Hardware and Cool Informatics?
This new sequencing platform, announced at #CGC13 conference, is today’s hottest story at twitter. The development approach appears to be a follow-up of Moleculo theme, where hardware technology and nice informatics are combined to achieve what they are looking for (low-cost small-volume instrument for clinicians). Check #CGC13 hashtag at twitter for more details. Also OmicsOmicsblog wrote on the implications of Roche+PacBio deal, where the author mentioned gnubio as a wildcard.
“GnuBio: $50k, plug’n’play, $200/sample for 50 genes, no sample prep”
“GnuBio raw data error rate in test set of samples (24x36 genes) was 0.”
